On behalf of the BWA Federal Expert Commission on Healthcare, we are pleased to invite you to the BWA Expert Commission Healthcare Focus Dialogue 2025 on 21 November 2025, 9:30 to 12:30 (Hybrid Format). The session will take place both on-site in Berlin as part of a breakfast meeting and online via webinar.

The dialogue will be moderated by Dr. Claus W. Biermann, MD MPH, Chairman of the Federal Expert Commission on Healthcare. He will guide participants through a focused programme on current developments and cooperation opportunities between Germany and China across healthcare, medical technology, biotech and life sciences.

A strengthened Sino-German exchange in healthcare
Germany and China are among the most dynamic healthcare markets worldwide, driving advances in biotechnology, medical devices, digital health and preventive medicine. As both systems evolve, structured collaboration and trusted partnerships are becoming increasingly important.

We are honoured that BWA Senator Mr. Alex Wang, Deputy Chair of the NETDA Management Board and Head of the BioSpark Program, will join us in person. His participation reflects the strong commitment on both sides to deepen cooperation in the health and life science sectors.

As part of the programme, we will introduce the Jiangsu Nantong Economic-Technological Development Area (NETDA). NETDA is one of China’s leading high-tech zones with a strategic focus on biomedicine, medical devices and health technologies. For German innovators, NETDA offers a strong platform for research and development cooperation, pilot projects and sustainable market expansion.

What to expect
Participants can look forward to a compact and practice-oriented programme that brings together expert insights and direct exchange with senior representatives from Germany, China and Europe. The dialogue will cover current trends in healthcare, biotechnology, medical technology and digital health, as well as regulatory developments in both countries. It will also highlight practical examples of Sino-German cooperation and provide opportunities for open discussion and networking with executives, researchers and policymakers. Short keynote inputs and a moderated dialogue will create a productive environment for identifying partnership opportunities and deepening cross-border collaboration.
